I saw this linked on a friend's Facebook page. It's a good article that all moms should take 5 minutes to read. Yes, it's the Huffington Post, which I'm sure is enough to turn some of you off . Read it anyway.
I occasionally feel like I could be doing so much more with/for my kids. Mothering guilt just doesn't discriminate. And I've heard from a number of people in various places, "oh don't blink, this time will be over before you know it. To them I say, "yes, yes it will and then maybe I'll be getting enough sleep to be able to recall only the beautiful memories of my small children and not the sometimes extreme trials that come with raising small ones".
Please don't misunderstand me. I love my kids to bits but I have a sneaking suspicion that I won't miss the temper tantrums and poopy diapers like some of these well-meaning people in the store allege I will. :)

Some stranger at the mall said that to us YESTERDAY!
I read the article. Today is bad so I was nodding yes while reading.
Who would miss tantrums and whining? I think we are hard wired to eventually remember mostly the good and very littls bad. It's why someone 20 years older than you or I can be judgemental towards us when we are having a really bad day with our kids. I always say to myself "remember this when you are 50 and see a young mother fighting 2 kids in a grocery store."
On the other hand, part of me does not want this to end because along with the bad ending, so does all of the little kid cuteness, small baby toes, and hugs that make me temporarily forget that morning's tantrum.
I'm not seeing the link to click on. Maybe it's just my computer?
Darci the link is the "this" in the first sentence. I've you can't get it, let me know and I'll send you the link.
