Christmas Crack

I found this recipe while puttering around on Pinterest. You can see where I got the recipe if you click on the link. If you don't care to click around any more than you have to, here's the recipe. This was the easiest treat I made for the holidays. Fast, only four ingredients and tasty like you don't think could ever be possible with Saltines and sugar involved.

Christmas Crack
1 c butter
1 c brown sugar
2 c semi sweet chocolate chips
40ish Saltine Crackers

 1. Preheat oven to 350˚.
2. Line a jelly roll pan with foil and spray with pan spray. Lay crackers in flat layer over entire tray. (I did a half sheet tray and had to do 1 1/2 times the recipe.)
2. Melt butter and sugar and heat until it boils. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-6 minutes.
3. Pour sugar and butter mixture over the crackers and spread out evenly. Bake for 5-8 minutes until toffee bubbles.
4. Remove from oven and let cool for 3-5 minutes.
5. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top and let melt. Spread out. Top with chopped nuts, crushed crackers, sea salt, if desired.
6. Cool in refrigerator until chocolate hardens, then break toffee into chunks and serve. Super tasty!

My cousin brought these to our family gathering - so good! Now to restrain myself from making these all the time! :)
